Bill is VCJ’s volunteer Executive Director.
He served nearly 12 years as a US Army officer, had a successful 20+ year career as a senior HR and talent management leader in large, complex, global, for-profit companies, and has spent the last 5 years as an entrepreneur, founding Kieffer & Associates LTD, a coaching/advisory firm in 2018, and co- founding Veteran Career Journey with Dave White in 2023.
He is also an author, self-publishing the top-selling “Military Career Transition: Insights from the Employer Side of the Desk” in 2021, and co-authoring “Veteran Career Journey: More Insights from the Employer Side of the Desk” with David White in 2023.
He is a TEDx speaker, a 4-time LinkedIn Top Voice, and has guested on over 40 podcasts and has presented at numerous events, discussing business, leadership and related topics. In addition, he has been 4 times elected and twice appointed to public office in his hometown. Bill also a coach and faculty member for The Honor Foundation, providing career transition services to the special operations community.
He holds a Master of Science, Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration, Human Resources from the University of Toledo. In addition, he has completed the Strategic Human Resources Program at Harvard Business School, and the Leadership Education Program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Bill is a certified coach via Marshall Goldsmith and the WHY Institute.
