With gratitude, we recognize the Chez Family Foundation for their generous contribution
Welcome to Veteran Career Journey (VCJ), a 501c(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between veterans and employers. Our mission is to prepare and guide service members in navigating their post-military careers, helping them to successfully transition into fulfilling and rewarding civilian lives.
As a service member or veteran considering a career transition, you know it can be challenging. From defining the right job or career for you, to adjusting to a new work environment, there are many hurdles to overcome. That’s why we created VCJ – to provide you with the resources and support you need to succeed before, during, and after the transition to your post-military career.
Why We Do It
We’ve seen too many of our brothers and sisters struggle through the pain, hurdles and challenges of career transition directly and indirectly. Far too many have succumbed to suicide. We are passionate about not letting this continue. Our commitment stems from a pressing need: the struggle of transitioning veterans. By knocking down hurdles and challenges to transition and career success, preparing veterans to become value-adding members of the civilian work world, and preparing employers to successfully attract and retain veterans, we are dedicated to:
- Removing Barriers: Simplifying the transition to civilian careers.
- Empowering Veterans: Transforming veterans into invaluable assets within the workforce.
- Educating Employers: Guiding companies to effectively welcome and nurture veteran talent.
How We Do It
Empowering Through Education: We provide service members, veterans, and employers access to essential and comprehensive training modules to pave the way for a successful shift into the civilian work sphere. We also know that transition is a team sport – spouses are always invited to attend!
Service Member & Veterans
We offer two valuable training courses that will make a real, positive impact on your transition. There is no cost to you, and all participants receive a free copy of the book upon which each course is based! Live, on-line and in-person options are available:

Employers
We offer training to help your organization better understand veterans, the value they bring to the workforce, and how to interact with more effectively with them.
Leveraging a proprietary eight stage model for success, we take you from start to finish, offering insights and best practices to attract, select, engage and retain veteran talent.
Our Team
At VCJ, we believe that post-military career success is possible for everyone. We are passionate about helping you prepare for success before, during or after your transition.
Our team understands the unique challenges that veterans and their spouses face when transitioning back to civilian life. We have seen firsthand how difficult it can be for our brothers and sisters in uniform to find meaningful employment and build fulfilling careers. That’s why we are committed to helping you overcome these challenges and achieve your career goals.
