One of the biggest benefits of the Army’s civilian transition job training programs is exposure to and awareness of civilian workplace culture, norms and expectations.
The Army has cut back the time various grade-levels may participate in these programs.
E1-E5’s are limited to 120 days. E6-E7, WO1 – CW3, and O1-O3 limits are 90 days. E8-E9, CW4-CW5, and O4 and up are limited to 60 days.
This curtails service members’ exposure to civilian work world realities and leaves them less prepared for success.
